Welcome Fellow Colgans
Encyclopaedia Britannica, next to the name 'Colgan':

A Luddite (pronounced LUH-dite): resistant to new technology or skeptical of rapid technological change. But here's the twist: the original Luddites weren’t anti-technology—they were skilled artisans fighting against the economic and social upheaval caused by automation. So if someone says “I’m a bit of a Luddite,” they might just mean they prefer analog over digital, or they’re cautious about tech’s impact on society—not necessarily clueless or backward.
However in reference to Colgan, most definitely see definition #1.
